The Wildcats took on the Millionaires Thursday night in a battle for the Divison 1 Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Championship.  Mifflinburg defeated Williamsport at home in the Cat's Den with an impressive 53-27 to finish the regular season undefeated in the PHAC-I and improved their record to 13-2 on the season.  Thursday night was also a night to celebrate the 2012 senior class.  This year's senior class consists of David Sheesley, Alan Miller, Aaron Shrawder, and Gaven Girton.  Eric Dock was named wrestler of the match for Mifflinburg. Dock won by fall at 152 lbs. to help the Wildcats win the championship.  The Wildcats lost the first match of the night before responding and taking a 17-6 lead after the first four bouts.  Picking up falls for the Wildcats were Cole Walter, Alan Miller, Eric Dock, Ty Walter, John Punako, Aaron Shrawder, and Nazar Mironenko.  Next action for the Wildcats is next Wednesday night at home as they begin their quest towards a District IV title.  The opponent has not yet been determined.  Thursday night will mark the last match of the regular season for the Wildcats and will also be Senior Night.  The seniors on this year's squad are David Sheesley, Alan Miller, Aaron Shrawder, and Gaven Girton.  In action in JV bouts Thursday night, Logan Stenger, Abram Miller, and Dalton Walls all picked up falls before the varsity action got started. The junior high team lost Thursday night 45-49 against the Millionaires and their record moves to 12-3 on the season. The junior high surrendered 30 points in forfeits tonight and it was too much to overcome.  Michael Hosterman also suffered an injury to his arm and had to be taken to the hospital. 11th Annual NHSCA Wrestling Festival 4th Place Pleasant Valley High School Broadheadsville, PA Saturday, January 14, 2012 TEAMS                     RESULTS Mifflinburg vs. Timberlane Regional, NH - Won 36-27 Mifflinburg vs. Central Bucks West - Won 59 - 16 Mifflinburg vs. Don Bosco Prep, NJ - Won 32-30 Mifflinburg vs. Blair Academy, NJ - Loss 22-55 Mifflinburg vs. Germantown Academy, PA - Loss 26-27

Mifflinburg finished 4th place in the very tough NHSCA Duals.  They started off their day by downing Timberlane, NH, the 2011 New England Champions.  They then went on to dominate Central Bucks West and beat Don Bosco Prep out of New Jersey. The Wildcats wrestled amazing all day and made it to the semi-finals where they faced the #1 team in the country Blair Academy.  Mifflinburg got their first loss of the season as they were defeated by Blair.  The Wildcats then faced Germantown Academy, another prep school out of Pennsylvania that had just pounded on Northampton.  Mifflinburg lost by one point but put up a remarkable showing as it came down to the wire.  Ty Walter and Nazar Mironenko both went undefeated on the day at 5-0.  Mifflinburg is now 9-2 on the season but are looking better than ever.  They return to action on Tuesday night against Hughesville at home.

Mifflinburg finished 20th out of 44 teams.  They were the highest placing Pennsylvania AA school in the tournament! Congratulations to Nazar Mironenko for finishing 4th place at 285 and David Sheesley for finishing 7th at 113 pounds.  David recorded his 100th career win during the tournament!
